Challenge meeting 2

The second challenge meeting of the season was a definite success for Rush Athletic Club. Our definite track star today was Krestien Micallef, placing 2nd in the men’s open 400m with an exceptional time of 52.13, a new personal best for him. In the u16 200m, our trio of Rush AC girls performed amazingly, all doing personal bests and placing in the top 3, with Kimahri Charles being the winner. In the u16 200m for boys, Beppe Grillo took the clear lead in the event and won it with a personal best. In the 800m, our u16 Josepha Marie Micallef  took the race with a clear lead and a new personal best. In the open categories, we had Warren Zammit placing 2nd in the 20m with a personal best of 22.92 and Rachel Galea in the open 1500m placing second with a personal best.

From the field, we dominated in all events and nearly won them all. The best result came from Luke Farrugia in the discus throw nearly breaking his own national record. In the u16 girls hammer throw, Sarah Chouhal and Mariah Zahra placed 1st and 2nd respectively, both with great results and Mariah producing a personal best. Mariah also produced a personal best in the shot put. The u16 Kyle Caruana also produce a great result in hammer throw with a personal best and our u14 Kareem Luca Chouhal won both the hammer and discus throw with a personal best. In the jumping events, we had Kayleigh Chetcuti in the u16 long jump with a personal best of 5.23m placing second, and Kimahri Charles with a personal best placing 3rd.
