Athletes chosen to be part of Youth Development Scheme

A big round of applause to our 4 athletes who this year were nominated to be part of the Youth Development Scheme.
These 4 athletes wrote their name on the books several times last season being nationally and internationally.
Isaac Bonnici besides winning Athlete of the Year in middle distance U18 for 2022, won the national Championship in his category. In the Fisec Games he won silver in the 400m and broke several national category records. This year apart from already qualifying for the EYOF he is eyeing a place for the upcoming GSSE Games of the Small States of Europe.
Kareem Chouhal besides winning Athlete of the Year in throws U18 for 2022, won the national Championship in his category. In the COJI Games he won gold , silver and bronze in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. This year apart he is eyeing to build on what he had last year entering in a new category which brings new challenges with the new weight.
Luca Gerada, besides winning Athlete of the Year in jumps, throws and sprint U16 for 2022, won the national Championship in his category. In the EKAG he won silver and bronze in Javelin and shot respectively and broke several national category records. This year apart from breaking new grounds he is eyeing for the EKAG games once again to be better than last year.
Thea Parnis, winning Athlete of the Year in sprints and jumps for 2022, won the national Championship in her category. In the EKAG she won gold and silver in the 60m and long jump and also best achievement overall in her category from all the athletes. She also broke several national category records. This year she is eyeing a place for the upcoming GSSE Games of the Small States of Europe and at this tender age she is already one of the best sprinters on the island and short listed with the national team. She will be also competing in several international events and hope to be break new grounds
